John E. Ingram, CPA
Mr. John Ingram graduated in 1965 from The University of Alabama School of Commerce with a major in Accounting. He was in the top of his class with a Q.P.A. of 3.8 in accounting and a 3.0 overall. He was with the Big Eight accounting firm of Haskins and Sells in Birmingham, Alabama for five years (1965-1970). He completed the requirements and received his certificate as "Certified Public Accountant" in May, 1968. Since 1970, Mr. Ingram has held controllership and Chief Financial Officer Positions with the following organizations:
- 1970-1972: A local building contractor in Birmingham, Alabama
- 1972-1976: Simon & Mogilner, Birmingham, Alabama-- A major manufacturer of children's' clothing with national sales and distribution.
- 1976-1981: Warrior Asphalt, Roofing & Sales Companies, including an asphalt refinery, a roofing material manufacturer and a roofing and metal materials distributor
- 1981-1983: Established an accounting and financial management firm offering accounting and financial consulting services to various small and medium size clients
- 1983-1994: Controller and Assistant administrator--Norwood Clinic, Inc., Birmingham, Alabama, a multi-specialty medical clinic with over 100 physicians and over 450 non-physician employees
He also currently serves as a contract controller and consultant for several clients of Ingram & Ingram, LLC including:
- A major national manufacturer of drumsticks, cymbals and products for the music industry
- A franchised chicken restaurant operation with 2 operating restaurants in Georgia
- A retail grocery store operation
- A major sawmill/lumber operation
- Several smaller client companies
Mr. Ingram is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of CPAs, and the Institute of Management Accounting. He also regularly attends and participates in various educational programs on accounting, tax, management, payroll and employee benefit subjects. |
John Neal Ingram, CPA
Mr. John Neal Ingram received his B.S. degree from The University of Alabama in 1987 and joined the Bix Six accounting firm of Ernst & Young the same year. He worked for two years on the audit staff at Ernst & Young. While on the audit staff, he had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients ranging from manufacturing to healthcare. Upon completing the requirements, Neal received his certificate of "Certified Public Accountant" in November, 1989.
IIn 1989, Neal Ingram returned to the University of Alabama and earned his Masters of Tax Accounting. He joined the tax staff at Ernst & Young in 1990, and reached tax manager level in 1993. His client
responsibilities included corporate financial planning for a large number of healthcare organizations, several consolidating groups and partnerships, as well as, individual financial planning.
In 1994, Neal joined The Green Group in Tuscaloosa, AL as a controller. His responsibilities included all phases of financial and tax accounting and cash management for this multi-company operation.
In 1997, Neal joined Ingram's Accounting, on a full-time basis, serving as the primary Tax Partner-- handling the tax consulting, research, and compliance areas of the firm.
Neal is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accounting. He has been a guest speaker at various educational seminars on tax accounting and the changes in tax law.
